August 2008 - CD of the Month
Los Lonely Boys
Forgiven
(Epic)
August is a month of scorching temperatures. It’s only fitting that we here at WSGE provide our members with even hotter tunes. Los Lonely Boys’ third release, Forgiven, is a natural choice.
The Boys do not misstep on their follow-up to 2006’s acclaimed album, Sacred. The Texas trio proves to fans and critics that they are here to stay.
The album opener, “Heart Won’t tell A Lie,” is an up-beat mood-setter that grabs the listener with a great blues riff and doesn’t let go. Forgiven is packed with signature Los Lonely Boys hooks and choruses with songs like “Stayin with Me,” “I’m A Man,” and “Superman.”
This album is sure to please both fans of and new-comers to Los Lonely Boys alike. So pop in the disc, crank the AC and fix yourself a tall glass of ice-cold sweet tea because Forgiven is sure to heat up your stereo long after the August heat wave.
