August is Carolina Music Month!
For six years, WSGE Radio has proclaimed August Carolina Music Month. Our Album of the Month for Rock, Rhythm and Blues is David Childers & The Serpents, Interstate Lullaby. This Mount Holly, NC singer-songwriter has been recording music since 1999 with albums titled Hard Time Country and Time Machine.
All month we will pay homage to the great music, past and present, associated with North and South Carolina artists. We’ll specifically spotlight music by The HC Oates Band, Shovels and Rope, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Marcus King, The Avett Brothers, Ryan Adams, Roberta Flack, Robin Rogers, James, Brown, James Taylor and many more. If you are a Carolina artist or band that would like your music considered for air play please submit a recent release (2019 or 20120) to the station by Monday, July 27.
