The station’s newest beach deejay is Concord, NC native, Wayne Troutman also known as “Beach Shack Wayniac.” He plays the very best in beach and shag music on the third and fourth Sunday of each month from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Wayne was always a fan of Carolina beach music, but it wasn’t until he retired from his family businesses, Troutman Motors and Troutman Insurance four years ago that he truly became a beach “groupie”.
As a retiree, Wayne now has time to thoroughly enjoy the music he loves. After purchasing a condo in North Myrtle Beach, SC, Wayne regularly attends concerts at Fat Harolds, Ducks, Deckerz, Moto’s and Spanish Galleon where he enjoys the music of Band of Oz, The Tim Clark Band, The Embers, Too Much Sylvia and many others. Pictured to the left is Wayne with Rick Lee and Steve Long from Too Much Sylvia.
Wayne’s dedication to this genre of music is evident by the fact that he commutes from North Myrtle Beach to the radio station monthly to host his show. After completing the station’s Announcing Workshop in spring 2018, he realized WSGE desperately needed additional volunteer beach deejays to maintain the weekend schedule. To help ensure that the station can continue to provide quality music programming with live hosts, Wayne willingly drives to Dallas, NC to entertain a growing number of fans. When he’s not serving as a deejay or attending beach music concerts, you may find Wayne on the golf course or spending time with his children and grandchildren.
