2024 Hall of Fame Inductee
On April 19, 2024 the Carolina Beach Music Awards announced the 91.7 WSGE will be inducted into their Hall of Fame later this year in November at their annual ceremony in North Mrytle Beach, SC.
WSGE to be Inducted into Carolina Beach Music Awards Hall of Fame
Gaston College radio station WSGE 91.7 FM is a 2024 inductee into the Carolina Beach Music Awards Hall of Fame. The station, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024, has been recognized as the CBMA Radio Station of the year seven times, most recently in 2023.
The mission of the CBMA awards is to promote Carolina Beach Music, its influences and offshoots, and the unique Carolina lifestyle.
“WSGE is a Hall of Fame station because of the individuals who are behind the music,” said Regan Brown, Interim Station Manager. “In its 43-year history, many volunteer deejays have given of their time and talents to our beach music programming. In addition to these individuals, Gaston College and our members continue to support the station year after year. It is humbling to be a part of a radio station that is made up of the contributions of so many. I hope that everyone will join us in celebrating this recognition because without them, WSGE would not exist.”
