Be a WSGE Deejay!
WSGE is offering a five-week workshop on Monday and Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. beginning Monday, August 8th. This workshop will provide general knowledge and skills needed to serve as a radio deejay and will be held on the Dallas Campus of Gaston College.
Shifts and fill-in positions are currently available for Rock, Rhythm and Blues, Highway 321 Blues, Gospel and Beach day-parts. Since on-air positions are very competitive, completion of the workshop does not guarantee an air shift. The deadline for applications is Monday, August 1. Class size is limited to six participants. Preference will be given to applicants with prior radio broadcast experience. The registration fee is $80. The fee associated with this workshop is not tax-deductible.
To apply for this class, fill out the Volunteer Form and upon notification of your acceptance – your workshop fee will be due no later than the first day of the workshop. Checks can be brought to WSGE, 201 Highway 321 South, Dallas, N.C. Monday – Thursday during normal business hours between 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. They should be made payable to the Gaston College Foundation with WSGE noted in the memo section. The radio station is located in the Craig Arts and Sciences Building (CAS) room 114. If you want to pay by credit card, a link can be emailed to you for that purpose.
