On the Air!
Have you ever listened to our beach music programming and noticed that one of our deejays has an Eastern New England English accent and wondered where he was from? It was Larry Strout, and he is a native of Auburn, Maine.
Larry’s love for radio started at an early age, but he did not have an opportunity to pursue it until his late 50’s. Upon moving to North Carolina, he took the Announcing Workshop to become a volunteer deejay. He initially served as a Rock, Rhythm and Blues deejay but soon transitioned to serving as a fill-in announcer for Beach/Shag. Currently, he is the host of the Beach Breeze every third Sunday of the month from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Larry Strout is a Logistics Planner at R C Moore Inc. based in McBee, SC where he’s worked for 21 years. He is happily married to Tonya, and they have a blended family that includes six children and nine grandchildren. Larry’s passion for beach music is evident every time he graces the micro-phone. Let him know what you think of his show through the station’s feedback form!
