Top 91 Songs of 2016

On Monday, January 2, WSGE counted down the Top 91 Songs of 2016.  “All We Ever Knew” from The Head and the Heart’s album, Signs of Light was the number 1 song.

They were formed in the summer of 2009 by Josiah Johnson (vocals, guitar, percussion) and Jonathan Russell (vocals, guitar, percussion), the band also includes Charity Rose Thielen (violin, banjo, vocals), Chris Zasche (bass), Kenny Hensley (piano), and Tyler Williams (drums). The band is signed to Warner Bros. Records and have released three albums thus far.  The band will be performing in Charlotte on March 10th.

Rounding out the top five are the following songs:  The Decemberists “Why Would I Now”, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals “Shine,” Red Hot Chili Peppers “Dark Necessities,” and Coldplay “Up & Up”.  The countdown was based on the station’s weekly playlists.
