Women’s History Month Features!
March is Women’s History Month and each week we’ll feature female artists that represent different genres of music. They are as follows: Americana, March 1 – 4; Rock, March 7 – 11; Rhythm and Blues, March 14 – 18; Blues, March 21 – 25 and Singer/Song-writers, March 28 – 31. In addition, when you listen to The Saturday Night R&B House Party starting March 13 at 7 pm. expect to hear a weekly music segment honoring outstanding female R&B artists of the 1960s – 1980s.
Each day throughout the month we will share short bios on Unsung Sheroes – local and national women who have tremendously impacted society but may not have received the recognition they deserve. On Consider This that airs Sundays at 11 a.m. Regan Brown (pictured below) and Thera Martin will present a four-part series, titled, Beyond the Chatter- Conversations that Matter. It will address stereotypes and biases that are impacting women of different races, ethnicities or cultures. The four part series will include the following:
- Episode I (March 6) The Impact of Standards of Beauty and Body Image on Self-Esteem
- Episode II (March 13) Clarifying Perceptions Associated with Dating and Marriage
- Episode III (March 20) Careers & Business Ownership
- Episode IV (March 27) Family Life and Parenting Styles
